Wow – this is really interesting. I have issues with my sciatic nerve and left piriformis, and the tread wear patterns (and photos I see of myself) indicate that I’m not running evenly, but I have yet to figure out how to fix it. Seeing the video is really interesting, and I’m going to pay closer attention to my knees as well – hoping to train for Boston with less hip pain than I had when training for Chicago!
Rachelle, It’s great that you are now paying attention to how you run! This is the start of running injury free for life! Keep an eye on how your wear patterns are, what your knees are doing, and of course, a good video gait assessment can show you what is going on and how to fix it. Good luck with your training for Boston and let me know how you’re doing! – Kari
