This course is designed specifically for endurance athletes and your specific needs to prevent injury and improve performance. Read more about the importance of strength training for runners and endurance athletes and about this program here. The course will be lead by Dr. Brown Budde and is an interactive, strength training program. You will be lead through runner-specific strength training movements and will be observed the whole time to ensure your form and technique is perfect so you get the most benefit possible out of this program. The course consists of 4 -1 hour sessions. Next Session Dates: Tuesday Mornings from 6-7am: November 24th, December 1st, 8th and 15th. These will be held at the RefinedRun Grandview location at 668 Grandview Avenue. The amount of athletes is limited so that individual attention is provided to everyone. Come join us every Wednesday! Every Wednesday evening, Dr. Brown Budde leads a group run workout. We meet at RefinedRun in Grandview – 656 Grandview Avenue – inside Shape Fitness. She is available at 6pm for any training or injury related questions prior to leading a dynamic warm up and group run. The run starts at 6:30pm and is done by 8pm. Dr. Brown Budde has teamed up with Michele, from Yoga on High to provide 4 workshop and educational sessions throughout 2014. Stability is the 2nd in a 4 part series of Yoga for Runners. You don’t have to come to all 4 – just attend what class dates work for you. In the Stability session for Runners, you will learn how stability and strengthening exercises, specific to the runner, will help you keep your body moving efficiently and maintain great running technique. Being able to hold great running form and technique throughout your training and your races will keep you injury free and give you the ability to run faster and farther with less work! After attending this clinic, attendees will understand the importance of the taper, why the body feels different during the taper, how it will affect race day performance and how to perform it properly. This clinic will also cover the day before the race and race day strategies to make sure everything goes as planned and you can race up to your full potential.
